I am Alex, aka rouages. I am a dreamer by nature, a philosopher by education, a skeptic by conviction, a free spirit and an art, illustration & design lover (and practitioner) by choice.

I am currently working on a series of videos, where I describe my experiences and takeaways from this year’s Inktober. I thought that making videos of me sketching, drawing, experimenting with materials, of the mistakes I make and of me starting over again might be of use for someone who is just starting out.

I know what it feels like to be unsure of one’s skill or to be discouraged or intimidated by the skill level of the already well-established artists. Because this is how I feel. Watching some awesome art YouTubers making their astonishing pieces makes me sometimes feel like I have lost so much time already that I could never get to their level.

That’s why I thought that it would be nice to see videos of artists learning, failing, struggling and yet pushing on with their art. I want to share with you the learning path that I am setting out on and maybe we can work towards leveling up the skills together!
